Respondents to the survey report anxiety levels of HIT professionals and threats increasing whereas budgetary constraints of most organizations limiting number of personnel and dollars allocated to HIT security. This dangerous combination of increasing threat and decreasing capital allocation makes healthcare a soft security target and may attract further increases in interest by cybercriminals
